Summary:

A planetary nebula around a black hole system, hosting 79 bodies in total, the majority of which are landable. Surface life is present on some thin atmospheric bodies.

Description:

In the depths of Mare Somnia, the Sea of Dreams, sleeps Morpheus, forever cloaked in an impenetrable event horizon, enveloped in a luminous blue robe, and attended by an entourage of 78 minions: giants and dwarfs, planets and stars.

This is a planetary nebula surrounding a low stellar mass black hole (only 2.9 solar masses), in a region of the galaxy where nebulae are almost entirely absent.

The Black Hole

Notable among Morpheus's acolytes is body AB 3 g, a thin carbon dioxide atmospheric moon with some valuable flora on its surface: Osseus Pellebantus, Tussock Triticum, and Clypeus Lacrimam.

AB 3 g

The distant third star of the system is a class F white star that hosts an extensive planetary system of its own. The most notable one is the C 10 b moon, which is closely and rapidly orbited by a moon of its own. This nested moon's pock-marked surface provides fine views of its parent and grandparent planets.

In all, there are 75 planets in the system, of which 57 are landable.

The system was first discovered in 3302 by Commander Skafre, but then forgotten for 9 years until its recent rediscovery.
