Summary:

A metal-rich body with a landable Hot Thin Silicate Vapour atmosphere bearing life.

Description:

The Crucible is a metal-rich body in a helium-rich system that has one of the rarest landable atmospheres: Hot Thin Silicate Vapour. At the time of its discovery, only 87 exist in the galaxy.

The Crucible

Also on this body are Blatteum Bioluminescent Anemone. An incredible find, seeing that, at the time of this POI's submission, it is the first documented planet to have life with a Silicate Vapour atmosphere in the galaxy. This planet is also the fourth atmospheric found bearing anemone on its surface.

Sunset

At twilight, the skies of the Crucible become ablaze with deep reds and oranges. And, with the brilliant blue-purple shine of its primary B type star, the mixing colors provide a truly stunning sight you won't really find anywhere else in the galaxy.

System Map

The Crucible itself is part of a triple planetary configuration, consisting of itself, a Helium-Rich Gas Giant and a T Tauri Star. During the daytime, the somewhat pale overhead sky is dominated by the primary B type. The T Tauri however also noticeably shines alongside it, although is overtaken by the primary's sheer luminosity.

Daytime

Dotted along the surface are many small peaks and hills, probably former mini-volcanoes. Do be careful, however. With the surface gravity being 1.41 g, some deep and tiny craters might not be escapable in an SRV.

Terminator

The backscatter of the white-hot atmosphere in contrast with the intense blue-purple make for incredibly scenic views.
