Summary:

One of the inhabited systems along the Sol - Colonia route, with an Ocellus station around a ringed Earth-like world. No shipyards.

Notice: This POI shares the same star system with a prior existing entry in the Galactic Mapping Project (GMP). You can visit the original entry using the link below:

Description:

This system was settled in 3303, to act as a waystation for settlers and freight headed to Colonia. An Ocellus starport called Vihara Gate was built in orbit of the first planet, which is a ringed Earth-like world.

The planet itself is just barely hospitable enough to be classified as habitable: its average surface temperature is only 263 K. On the positive side, the surface gravity is comfortable, as it is almost exactly 1 g.

There is also an outpost called Martyrs' Rest farther out in the system, with not much of note aboard it. The third station here is the CB-51 Constellation megaship, which was finished in 3308, as part of the Colonia Bridge initiative by Brewer Logistics. It is situated just above the rings of the gas giant it orbits (the second planet), giving some spectacular views.

During the same time, over a dozen surface settlements have been established in the system. The system has a vibrant industrial economy, with plenty of mining going on in the rings of the gas giants too. Unfortunately, none of the stations here have a shipyard.

A tourist beacon orbiting the Earth-like world broadcasts the following message when scanned:

Tourist Spot 0511
Commander Edgar Starwalker recommends this spectacular Ringed Earth-like world with exactly 1G. When this spectacle was discovered by the Chapterhouse Mission to Jaques and news broke back on Kamadhenu, a local sect of sadhus interpreted this as a fulfillment of a prophecy. They saw the ringed ELW as "Kashyapa" - the legendary consort of Mother Kamadhenu, a fabled paradise - and are now fixated on one day establishing a religious retreat in this system. In parallel to this the Chapterhouse themselves hope this place will one day act as a gateway to the new frontier of the Colonia Nebula for settlers and freight.
