Summary: A moon with an inclined orbit, its surface located just 372 km from the rings of the gas giant. | |
Description: The second body in this system is a Class IV gas giant, and its first moon (2 a) orbits it with an inclination of 2.21°. Although this inclination is small, it's still enough for the giant's rings to appear above the moon's sky - and at this distance (372 km to the rings' edge), they can cover large parts of the sky.
The moon features surface volcanism: Metallic Magma, as well as three geological signals: Sulphur Dioxide Fumarole, Iron Magma Lava Spout, and Sulphur Dioxide Gas Vent.
There are also three other bodies in this system with large rings: two class Y dwarfs and one class IV gas giant. However, aside from their rings, there is nothing of interest on them. The name is inspired by the myth of Helios crossing the skies every day. It emphasizes the movement of the ring system across the moon's horizon. | |
