Two nearly identical Red Giants orbiting each other closely, and a landable planet nearby to enjoy the view.
Located approx. 11.000 ly from Sol, in the Hawking's Gap region, this system's main feature is a pair of nearly identical red giant stars within a distance of 207 ls.
Roughly 526 ls from the system's entry point, a lone metal rich planet orbits the two giant fireballs. Explorers who land on it are rewarded with a fantastic view. It's also possible to disembark, but surface temperatures are above 1,000 K, which current suit technology cannot handle for long. Nevertheless it's worth the risk, since the giant coronal mass ejections which happen from time to time are best viewed on foot, outside of the SRV.
