Description:

The Darwin Research Facility asteroid base was established on the 11th April 3303 by the Alliance in the California Nebula.

Darwin Base

Up until 3304 the system had been controlled by the Turner Research Group, then the Allied Order of Exemplars quickly took over in January that year. The two factions would vie for control for two years, but from 3306, the Order have established stability with no serious challenges to their rule.

The Allied Order of Exemplars is a multi-faith organisation specialising in human enhancement, parapsychological research and humanitarian aid. The members of this secretive organisation are bound by oath to be accountable by law and liberty in both thought and action.

Since the theocracy took over, the system has built over 44 surface installations in industries ranging from mining, agriculture, biotechnology and even leisure. On occasion ground conflicts arise around the different leisure facilities.

A damaged Samson class bulk cargo ship, AK-302, can be found here: it was attacked by pirates, and is now stranded in orbit above the first planet.

The fifth planet has 13 Thargoid barnacle sites.
