Summary:

The closest primary neutron star to Sol. A great location to learn how to supercharge your FSD.

Description:

Jackson's Lighthouse, located only 174 light years from the center of the bubble, is the closest primary neutron star to Sol. Due to its proximity, it is the perfect place to practice FSD supercharging. Although 18 Camelopardalis C is actually closer to Sol, it is less convenient to use, as the neutron star is located 90,161 ls from the main star.

The system consists of a class V gas giant, four class L dwarf stars, and a class T dwarf star.

Although Universal Cartographics notes the system as having an Industrial economy and being under the protection of the Federation, it's listed with a population of zero, and there are no permanent settlements in the system.
However, numerous fleet carriers are typically present, making recovery from any supercharging mishaps easier and quicker.

Interestingly, the Galaxy map search function also reveals a location known as Jackson's Cave:

Galaxy Map Search

This uncharted nickel iron planetoid is rumored to pass through the beams of the neutron star, and is riddled with tunnels and caverns used by pirates and smugglers. However, there is no concrete evidence of its existence, except for the memoirs of the pirate Ravindra Khanguire which were published in 3300 by Gavin Deas under the title "Elite Dangerous: Wanted".

Finally, there is a tourist beacon, Nearby Neutron (0051), located very close to the beams, which which simply states that "Commander Jak suggests this location as one of the nearest neutron stars to the human bubble".
