A rich planetary nebula, and former home of the DSSA Inverness. | → | A rich planetary nebula, and former home of the DSSA Inverness. |
DESCRIPTION | ||
→ | ||
The Thracian Nebula is situated on the Perseus galactic arm, in the Vulcan Gate region. The nebula itself is a remnant from a supernova, and although the central star had collapsed into a black hole, the light comes from two other stars in the system. A varied host of planets orbit these in various configurations, the most notable of which is a water world (named Skudra) that's almost Earth-like: the temperature is just two Kelvins below the minimum required boundary for Universal Cartographics to classify it as such... if the planet had any landmasses, besides the polar ice caps. Explorers who have reached this nebula from the bubble can travel farther West to the noted Ovomly sector, which houses the only form of spaceborne life known to thrive around white dwarf stars: Torus Molluscs. Aside from a few points of interest farther in the region, Vulcan Gate is relatively lightly explored (at the time of writing) compared to many other galactic regions, so there are plenty of opportunities for Commanders who wish to make their mark on the galaxy. The location currently hosts the DSSA Exp Haven anchored carrier. From 3306 August 29 to 3308 September 10, the nebula was home to the DSSA Inverness carrier. After the famous lost green gas giant was found, once At The Eldritch Gate expedition was complete, the carrier retired from the DSSA and STAR networks and left this system. | → | The Thracian Nebula is situated on the Perseus galactic arm, in the Vulcan Gate region.
