SUMMARY | ||
Inclined moon of a gas giant with an oxygen atmosphere | → | Inclined moon of a gas giant with an oxygen atmosphere |
DESCRIPTION | ||
→ | ||
Body 1 a in Graea Hypue AL-X d1-48 is an icy world that orbits a ringed class III gas giant. It has a semi major axis of just 1.1 LS, meaning that when landed on the surface the parent has an angular diameter of over 25° - and that's excluding the rings that can take up a much higher proportion of the sky. The body has a thin oxygen atmosphere which produces some vibrant pink and purple skylines. It is also highly inclined at over 60° meaning the rings are a big feature of the sky. It orbits in 18h 49m and comes within a few thousand kilometers of the host rings. It is also host to both Bacterium and Brain Tree biologicals, as well as having significant water geyser volcanism. | → | Body 1 a in Graea Hypue AL-X d1-48 is an icy world that orbits a ringed class III gas giant. It has a semi major axis of just 1.1 ls, so when viewed from the moon's surface, the parent planet looms large in the sky. It has an angular diameter of over 25° - and that's not counting the rings, which can take up a much higher proportion of the sky. The moon has a thin oxygen atmosphere, which produces some vibrant pink and purple skylines. Its orbit is also highly inclined, at over 60°, making the gas giant's rings a big feature of the sky. The moon completes an orbit in 18h 49m and comes within a few thousand kilometers of the host rings. It is also host to both Bacterium and Brain Tree biologicals, as well as having significant water geyser volcanism. |
