Summary:

A rare example of five planets sharing common barycentres, locked in a complex dance.

Notice: This POI shares the same star system with a prior existing entry in the Galactic Mapping Project (GMP). You can visit the original entry using the link below:

    Five Emperors (planetFeatures), M36 Sector RI-T c3-5

Description:

This system houses a very rare phenomenon: five planets in complex orbits around each other. They have been named after the Five Good Emperors of the Roman Empire from ancient Earth: starting from the closest body, Nerva, Trajan, Hadrian, Antoninus and Marcus Aurelius.

Orrery view of the first five planets

It's worth noting that although the surface composition, size, mass and atmospheres of the planets are almost exactly the same, they still look quite different from each other. They all share atmospheres of pure nitrogen, and the second planet's atmosphere is thin enough that Commanders can land their ship there. Unfortunately, there is no life, not even bacteria. The other four bodies are close enough that all of them can be distinguished by the unaided eye.

Rather odd and good, but unless I don't see this visually, I would not detour to see this. Still remarkable, though

Yeah, I know this doesn't show all that much. I want to make some screenshots from inside the system, but I'm rather far away and still doing some stuff there. It'll probably take a while.

Done, added some shots from the surface, as well as orrery views.
