Summary: A larger nebula hosting Purpureum Gourd Molluscs, not far from the Sol-Colonia route.
Description: The Traikeou AA-A h2 nebula is the Westernmost nebula in the Inner Orion Spur region, situated roughly 8,500 ly from Sol. The cloud itself is rather large, and its area has a decent star density: as such, it's easy to travel here, and there are plenty of photo opportunities. However, the main reason to visit this nebula are the tiny Purpureum Gourd Molluscs that are native here, and cannot be found elsewhere in the galaxy. Like the other Gourd Molluscs, these are quite small, and as such, easy to miss - especially among the much larger crystals and mineral spheres. At first, only uncertain signals will show up on the scanner, and Commanders have to fly quite close (within around 800 - 1,000 m) to have their ship resolve the signals and identify the molluscs. Although these molluscs seem to emit a caustic-looking trail as they fly around, these unknown chemicals are harmless. They do not react violently to approaching spaceships either: rather, these molluscs exhibit a behaviour that's often seen as playful. When a ship approaches them, they fly towards it as well, only stopping at a close distance, then turning around and flying back... only to come to a stop, then turn around and fly to the ship once again. These Purpureum Gourd Molluscs can be found in the following systems: As the system is in the Inner Orion Spur, the Albulum Gourd Molluscs that can be found anywhere in the region appear here as well. The nearest system that's known to house them is Traikeou KO-E c13-2. In addition to these, there are also Bark Mounds to be found on the surfaces of suitable planets (and moons) near the nebula, within 200 ly of its center. For explorers who journeyed here from the bubble, the Prai Hypoo AA-A h60 nebula has been a popular destination to go to next, as it hosts other Notable Stellar Phenomena, and Guardian Ruins.
