DESCRIPTION

The Puelaa AA-A h4 nebula, nicknamed the Devil's Hair nebula, sits over a thousand light-years above the galactic plane, in the Norma Expanse, near its border with the Norma Arm region.

This small, wispy red and pink colored nebula has an approximate 7 light-year radius, with no star systems situated inside the cloud. The closest system is Puelaa OD-V b8-0, at roughly 10 light-years away, where these pictures were taken.

A menacing looking face is clearly visible within the darker red area of the nebula.
