DESCRIPTION

Named for Commander Jellowiggler's daughter, Evelyn Faye Roy, who passed away aged 11 after succumbing to cancer.

Evelyn's Light is a tourist beacon and a unique location worthy of a detour. When you drop into the system there is a beacon outside of a bright neutron star, and when you listen to the beacon, you hear the sound of her heart beating and receive a message from Evelyn herself in your ship's inbox:

If I were teal, I would be a long wave crashing amongst graceful, big whales feeling freedom and happiness.
If I were gold, I would be a beautiful starfish, and I would be called the Star of the Sea.
If I were lilac purple, you would find me growing as a tiny flower,
laying on the soft, warm sand on the beach.
If I were millennial pink, I would be a seahorse prancing in the sea,
or a comfortable beach house for children to have fun in.
If I were apple green, you could say I was in the bottom of the deep blue sea,
having many different, colourful fish living happily in me.
If I were luminous yellow, I would be the large, bright sun,

>-- *"Colours", by Evelyn Faye Roy*

The beacon was created after an appeal to the Pilots Federation was successful. Universal Cartographics renamed the star and its system to Evelyn's Light in 3306. September.

Noted author Drew Wagar wrote Evelyn's tale into a story called "Evelyn's Story".
