SUMMARY | ||
The historic site of the first Ancient Guardian Ruins discovered in 3302. | → | The historic site of the first Ancient Guardian Ruins discovered in 3302. |
DESCRIPTION | ||
→ | ||
In 3302, an intercepted video transmission was found containing evidence of an ancient alien civilisation. Using the stars to guide him, Commander Basch Fon Ronseburg, also known as XDeath, was able to locate the site on Body 1 b and became the first known person to discover the ancient ruins of the Guardians, a long-extinct, advanced space-faring species. There is a tourist beacon overlooking the Guardian ruins commemorating his achievement. Since then, many more ruins have been discovered and classified as Alpha, Beta, and Gamma sites based on the geometric layout of the ruins. Synuefe XR-H d11-102 is a Beta site. The site contains a number of active obelisks that can be scanned, as well as Guardian relics that can be shot out of the relic towers. Additionally, numerous items can be found scattered around the site. While the site is the very first discovered, it could very well be the last colony created by the Guardians before their civilization was destroyed by their AIs. Logs recovered from the abandoned megaship the Cete tell that Professor Melville believes that the Synuefe XR-H D11-102 system represents some kind of end point or ‘last colony'. Additionally, bodies 5 b, 5 c, and 5 d contain biological samples with a value exceeding 18 million credits per body. | → | In 3302, an intercepted video transmission of an unknown site was found, showing evidence of ancient non-human ruins. Using the stars visible in the video's background to guide him, Commander Basch Fon Ronseburg (also known as XDeath) was able to locate the site on Synuefe XR-H d11-102 1 b and became the first known person to discover the ancient ruins of the Guardians: a long-extinct, advanced space-faring species. There is a tourist beacon overlooking the site that commemorates his achievement. After this first discovery, many more ruins have been found. Professor Melville of the derelict megaship Cete posited that this system represented "some kind of end point or ‘last colony'". As it turned out, the first Guardian ruin that humans have discovered was also the last site that the Guardians built, before they were driven to extinction by their own AI. While hundreds of Guardian Ruins have been found over the years, they are all built in three different layouts only. These were dubbed Alpha, Beta, and Gamma site, and this site is of the Beta variety. The site contains a number of active Obelisks that can be scanned, as well as Guardian Relics that can be retrieved from towers that rise from the ground. Numerous small items can be found scattered around the site. Additionally, bodies 5 b, 5 c, and 5 d all have thin carbon dioxide atmospheres and contain biological samples with a value exceeding 18 million credits per body. |
