| SUMMARY | ||
| A vibrant teal planetary nebula containing an Earth-like world. | → | A vibrant teal planetary nebula containing an Earth-like world. |
| DESCRIPTION | ||
| → | ||
When viewed at certain angles, this planetary nebula resembles a loosely-rolled bolt of the finest silk, which shifts in color from blue to green - especially from within the nebula itself.
Created by tens of millions years of emissions from its central neutron star, which are typically inhospitable to life, the Shimmersilk Nebula houses a secret jewel within: a single Earth-like world, orbiting the secondary K class star underneath a permanent, aquamarine aurora.
One little gap in the gas cloud of the nebula, the Tear in the Silk, provides a pinprick view of the outside universe.
Electricae Radialem can be found in many systems adjacent to the nebula, in a variety of differing colors.
The Shimmersilk Nebula, system name Teqaea PT-Q e5-860, served as the basecamp for the fleet carrier TSL Walter Verlin in the Summer 2023 expedition, "Izanami: Land of Dreams," presented by the Independent Explorers Association..
