SUMMARY | ||
Pistachio and Vanilla flavored planetary surface (Body 4a), with extremely well defined canyons that are perfect for racing events or for enjoying the neat scenery. | → | Extremely well defined canyons that are perfect for racing events or for enjoying the scenery, on body 4 a. |
DESCRIPTION | ||
→ | ||
Designation: Hedgau WU-E c12-0 4 a The Pistachio Raceways are a series of striking icy interconnected canyons with extremely steep sides, cut through a distinctly colored pistachio green landscape. The steep canyons are like made for racing events, the sides so vertical they seem like they've been cut out of the otherwise rolling surface of the small moon, stretching across large parts of its surface. As described when found, "Like making the Death Star trench run if the scenery had been designed by Nintendo." The body itself, a tiny moon (601km radius) is the closest moon to class 1 gas giant, orbiting 0.98LS away, affording a wonderful view of the parent body from the surface. Not all of the body shows the distinct terrain, but if the pilot aims for any of the green parts of the surface, they should find plenty of it. Great for an event on an expedition or as a travel goal of its own. Link to a one minute video of a flyby of the surface and into a canyon The Pistachio Raceways welcome careful drivers. And the not so careful. | → | The Pistachio Raceways on the 4 a moon are a series of striking icy interconnected canyons with extremely steep sides, cut through a distinctly colored pistachio green landscape.
