SUMMARY | ||
A landable planet with a carbon dioxide-sulfur dioxide atmosphere closely orbiting an M type and White Dwarf binary. | → | A landable planet with a carbon dioxide-sulphur dioxide atmosphere closely orbiting an M type and White Dwarf binary. |
DESCRIPTION | ||
→ | ||
This planet orbits its parent binary stars, consisting of an M type and a DAB type White Dwarf star, in 11.5 days. Surprisingly, the planet is not tidally locked and rotates once on its axis in 1 day. It is this most likely this quick rotation that generates a substantial magnetic field which allows its atmosphere—composed of 55.9% Carbon Dioxide and 44.1% Sulfur Dioxide—to continue to exist amidst intense nearby radiation. The stars orbit one another in 1.9 days. | → | This planet orbits its parent binary stars, consisting of an M type and a DAB type White Dwarf star, in 11.5 days. Surprisingly, the planet is not tidally locked and rotates once on its axis in 1 day. It is this most likely this quick rotation that generates a substantial magnetic field which allows its atmosphere - composed of 55.88% Carbon Dioxide and 44.12% Sulphur Dioxide - to continue to exist amidst intense nearby radiation. The stars orbit one another in 1.9 days. |
